SAMBIGKIS: ‘SANG DAKOT NA BIGAS FOR BICOL

Typhoon Goni, known in the Philippines as Super Typhoon Rolly, was an extremely powerful tropical cyclone that made landfall as a Category 5–equivalent super typhoon on Catanduanes in the Philippines. It became the strongest landfalling tropical cyclone on record by 1-minute winds, eclipsing the previous record held by Haiyan and Meranti. Many areas in Bicol region got devasted due to an unforgettable disaster brought by the super typhoon, and sadly, most of the residents have lost their property and even love ones.

To reach out to the victims of Typhoon Rolly, the San Mateo Municipal Rover Scouts Mission Circle 10 – SANGALAB, together with Messenger of Peace – Philippines, Brighton Venturers 1012, Metro Manila East Council Rover Scouts, Rover Circles United 08 – BSP – Cabanatuan City Council, and Bagacay Outfit 723 Camarines Sur, organized a fundraising program entitled, “SAMBIGKIS: ‘SANG DAKOT NA BIGAS PROJECT FOR BICOL,” to provide the needs of oragons. This collaboration was helpful to the people of Bicol Region for the reason that it raised a fund of P16,639.28. Bagacay Outfit 723 lead the repacking and distribution of relief goods, and the 80 families in Camarines Sur were the beneficiary of this project.

This kind of collaboration project leads us to unite as one and to give hope and inspire people that life goes on.
