BSP reaches out to typhoon victims in Rodriguez, Rizal

The Boy Scouts of the Philippines conducted relief operation in Rodriguez, Rizal on 20 November 2020, as part of its reach-out campaign to the victims of the typhoons that visited the country recently.

The team, headed by BSP Secretary General Rogelio S. Villa, Jr., together with BSP Southern Tagalog Regional Scout Director Rodolfo C. Pangilinan delivered relief goods such as boxes of canned goods, sacks of rice and clothes to Eulogio Rodriguez Elementary School, one of the designated evacuation sites of the Municipality of Rodriguez, Rizal. At least 426 individuals affected by flooding brought about by Typhoon Ulysses (International name Vamco) earlier this month are currently seeking shelter from the school. The relief goods were received by BSP Rizal Council Officer-in-Charge Moises A. Ramos and the school principal, Ms. Rosie Rivera.

“As Scouts, it is one of our duties to help other people at all times, especially during calamities.  May our simple donation of food and clothes be of use to the families staying here at the evacuation site. These items came to various Scout groups and BSP local councils all over the country” Secretary General Villa said during the turn-over of relief items.

This activity is part of the Scouts Humanitarian Disaster Response, an initiative to support those affected by calamities and natural disasters.
