The Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) aided our brothers and sisters in Bicol who were negatively affected by the onslaught of Super Typhoon Rolly (international name Goni). Since the assumption of Roberto M. Pagdanganan as the National President of the BSP in 2019, relief operations were made part of the initiatives of BSP for disaster response.
On 06 November 2020, a team led by BSP Secretary General Rogelio S. Villa, Jr. went to Bicol to deliver relief items which were donated to Camarines Sur, Albay, and Catanduanes. This includes a 2 vehicle load of food packs, clothings and temporary shelter materials which were donated by various Scouts and BSP local councils.
The BSP Camarines Sur Council and Mayon Council, chaired by Representative Luis Raymund Villafuerte and Governor Al Francis Bichara, respectively, also received their checks amounting to Php 1M each for the Grant-in-Aid Program (GIAP). The GIAP is a one-time financial grant of the BSP for its local councils which is designed to contribute to the sustainmentability of their operations by providing financial support to operations (Personnel Services/ MOOE/ Capital Outlay).
