The World Scout Environment Programme offers tools, resources and initiatives to help Scouts all around the world work together for the good of the local and global environment. The programme focuses on the environment in a broad sense and encourages the Scouts to have a holistic awareness of the natural world and how their day-to-day actions can impact upon this, progressively building a sense of responsibility for the environment. It is based on a set of environmental principles and aims that provide a foundation for environment education in Scouting.

Who are qualified to earn the World Scout Environment Badge?
For an individual to qualify for the program, a Scout must be duly registered with the Boy Scouts of the Philippines. Below are the available tracks in order to qualify for the WSEB:
For Boy Scouts
- Those who have successfully accomplished specific activities under the five (5) WSEP Aims
- Those who have earned the 1st Class Scout rank
For Senior Scouts
- Those who have successfully completed and reached the Venturer Scout rank
- Those who have earned the required or non-required merit badges as enumerated in the WSEP Matrix, regardless of rank attained
For Rover Scouts
- Those circles who have adopted the WSEP in their Personal Development
Plan consistent with the requirements enumerated under the Revised WSEP Matrix
How can I qualify and earn the World Scout Environment Badge?
There are two tracks to qualify and earn the World Scout Environment Badge as follows:
- All registered Senior Scouts or Rover Scout who have successfully completed the Outdoorsman Rank;
- All registered Scouts who has earned the Required and Non-Required Merit Badges enumerated in the WSEP Matrix, irrespective of the Scout’s rank
I am a registered Rover Scout. How can I qualify and earn the World Scout Environment Badge?
All Registered Rover Scouts who wish to qualify and earn the World Scout Environment Badge may adopt the World Scout Environment Programme in their Rover Circle’s Personal Development Plan as follows:
a. Explore and Reflect – Five (5) WSEP Aims and Activities
i. Yellow Quadrant Award – 2 Project Proposals that will meet the requirements of WSEP Aim No. 1 and its corresponding WSEP Activities A and B as stipulated in the WSEP Guideline.
ii. Green Quadrant Award – 2 Project Proposals that will meet the requirements of WSEP Aim No. 2 and its corresponding WSEP Activities A, B, C & D as stipulated in the WSEP Guideline.
iii. Red Quadrant Award – 2 Project Proposals that will meet the requirements of WSEP Aim No. 3 and its corresponding WSEP Activities A and B as stipulated in the WSEP Guideline.
iv. Blue Quadrant Award – 2 Project Proposals that will meet the requirements of WSEP Aim No. 4 and its corresponding WSEP Activities A, B & C as stipulated in the WSEP Guideline.
b. Explore and Take Action – Do an Environmental Project
i. Chief Scout’s Nation Builder – 2 Project Proposal that will meet WSEP Aim No. 5 and its corresponding WSEP Activities A, B and C as stipulated in the WSEP Guideline and completion of “Explore and Take Action” requirements that is to carry-out / implement an environmental project.
I am a BSP-WSEP Awardee. Where can I acquire the WSEP Badge?
There will be a special WSEP Badge made available at the National Scout Shop that any BSP-WSEPÂ Awardee may attached to their uniform. An official location for this badge will still have to be decided upon by the Uniform and Insignia Committee, which will be communicated thru an official memorandum. This internationally recognized symbol will indicate that the wearer is aware of the environmental issues and is a member of a worldwide brotherhood of environmentally active Scouts, further enforcing the WOSM’s claim “Scouts: Creating a Better World”.
