National President Wendel E. Avisado on Tuesday afternoon named Mr. Sofronio D. Hontanosas, Management Information Systems Executive as the new Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Director of the Field Operations Division.

In an office order released Tuesday afternoon, Avisado named Hontanosas as new FOD chief, relieving Mr. Rogelio S. Villa, Jr. who has been holding the post for more than ten (10) years. This comes after Villa was promoted as Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Secretary General last 17 June 2016. The office order allows Villa to focus on the functions and responsibilities of the Office of the Secretary General as he now manages the day-to-day operations of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) all over the country.

Hontanosas, a native of Dauis, Bohol, started his career in the BSP on 24 October 1994 as a young personnel clerk and eventually became the Director of the Administration Division, prior to his reassignment as Chief of the Management Information Systems Unit of the BSP National Office.

Under his new post, he will be managing the nerve center of the BSP, handling the development and monitoring of its programs and training, handling all events ad activities at national level and even special projects, field services to all local councils and regional offices, and the management of the information systems of the entire organization.
