BSP bares 25 TOBS finalists

 The Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) announced yesterday the names of the 25  national finalists of the 2011 Search for the Ten Outstanding Boy Scouts of the Philippines.

The 25 Finalists were chosen from hundreds of aspirants from the BSP’s 117 local councils nationwide. They will represent their respective regions in the competition. They will compete in the last leg of the search, the interview, which will be on 29 September 2011 at the BSP National Office in Manila. Participants coming from the 10 Scouting Region will arrive on 27 September 2011.

The 10 winners will be announced on October 1.

Exclusively sponsored by Coca-Cola Export Corp., the annual search is the biggest event in the Scouting calendar for the country’s 2 million Scouts. The nationwide search begins in July and culminates in the awarding ceremonies held in October as one of the highlights of Scouting Month. The contest is for Senior Scouts (13 to 17 years old), who are Filipino citizens, currently registered and at least third or fourth year high school students.

Winners of the search will receive two-year college scholarship, cash and other prices. Part of criteria for the selection of winners are community service, which refers to leadership or membership involvement to school-related activities, character development and bearing and interview which includes communication skills and personality.

Leung, Baguio City; Bernard T. Morales, Pampanga; Renz S. Bangis, Tarlac Council, Victor Cesar M. Morana, City of Mandaluyong; Juan Carlo M. Ona, Makati City Council; Henry Jefferson C. Morco, Manila Council, Earl Justine G. Anain, Batangas City; Marius Lorenzo U. Marquez, Oriental Mindoro; Arnel M. Arevalo, Jade R. Cabahug Rizal Council; Adrian Justin DC del Rosario, Sta. Rosa Council; Jim Fernan Bristol Gonzales, Camarines Sur Council; John Bernard L. Fortuno, Iriga City; Jewemars Christian B. Riano, Cyprian Jade L. Basa; Capiz Council; Nino Christopher A. Cardenas, Ezekiel S. Majan, Markus C. Balsicas, Cebu Council; Gideon Daverick Padilla, Misamis Occidental Council; Melbryll O. Bactong, Zamboanga Sibugay Council; Darryll Jade F. Ytang, Renz John Michael G. Mendoza Davao City Council; and Christian G. Lasala, Surigao del Norte Council.

    na misinterpret mo lang cguro c Christian kasi medyo mahiyain. Napakabait na bata yan, very cool and down-to-earth, intelligent pa. Alam ko dahil best friend ko sya. He is a wonderful person and I am proud to be gifted of his friendship!

Lasala….Sana iba nalang rep ng sdn….arrogant, boastful, mabait lang sa mga adult officials…the way pa lang magsalita….haizzz…sana ma examine ng mabuti yan…bago pa lang yan sa scouting movement…sumikat lang dahil sa PERA….peru bagay pa rin sa kanya ang pagka OUTSTANDING…STANDING OUTside the door…hehe di ako naninira…mahirap lang pag sya mananalo baka lumaki ulo lalo…
